Elmdale - Homer Goff, 88, of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville who pioneered many farm and 4-h programs in Montgomery County was fatally stricken at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday at his home east of here. Goff retired from farming in 1976, but not before being a charter member of the C Twp Farm Bureau, a field-man for Montgomery County ASCS office and a member of the board & founder of 4-H clubs within the county. He was a member of the Indiana Poland China Hog association and Producer's Marketing Association of Klondike. He had served as Twp. trustee two terms during the 30s and early 40s. Mr. Goff was graduated from Wingate HS and attended Purdue. He was a former member of the Primitive Baptist Church here and was once listed in Who's Who. Mr. Goff was born at Elmdale on Oct 4, 1893, a son of A.S. and Ann VanCleave Goff. He married Ethel Grenard at Elmdale Feb 15, 1916, she survives.Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Kathryn) Coffin of Covington and Mrs. Rosalind Clark of Elmdale; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister. Services scheduled for 2:30 a.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home, Waynetown with Rev. Jack Swank and Douglas McCord officiating. Burial in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Thursday. - kbz

Homer C. Goff of the Elmdale community, age 88, died Tuesday evening, November 10, at his home. He was born in Elmdale, October 4, 1893, the son of A. S. and Lucy VanCleve Goff. February 15, 1916, he married Ethel Grenard, who survives.
  A member of the former Primitive Baptist Church of Elmdale, he was an active farmer until 1976 and served two terms as trustee of Coal Creek Township. He was a member of the Indiana Poultry Association, American Aberdeen Angus Association, American Poland China Swine Association, a charter member of Coal Creek Farm Bureau and an active member of Producers Marketing Association of Klondike.
  Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Coffing of Covington and Mrs. Rosalind Clark of Elmdale; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Jack Swank and Rev. Douglas McCord officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale.- s
